I think the people of Star Trek got the "Doomsday" episode from watching one of these. [link] <-- is a picture of Doomsday Machine as compared to a Klingon warship.

basically its this huge object that floats through space... and swallows entire planets for food.

it's crazy to think they're one of the most gentle fish in the sea.. I would hate to be swimming in the ocean one day and some how get swallowed whole by that fish.
